The United States Will Build The World's Largest Solar Power Station

Arizona will be the United States built the world's largest solar power plant, which is scheduled for 2011 and generate electricity.

The power station has been named the "Solana", Spanish for "a sunny place", from Arizona and Abengoa Solar companies. It occupies 1,900 acres, will run two 140-megawatt steam generating units to 280 megawatts of total generating capacity.

Solana power plant will produce 280 megawatts of total generating capacity, enough to supply 7,000 families of their daily consumption, but also avoid the 400,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

In the next 30 years, the power station will be to the Arizona Public Service Company sell electricity, and brought to the Arizona 1 billion US dollars of economic interests, and Abengoa Solar companies will be about 4 billion dollars in receipts.
